Previously, he served as the Chief Executive Officer & Director of Aaron's LLC from 1997 to 2014.
He was also the Chairman, President, Chief Executive Officer & COO of Delta Air Lines, Inc. from 1983 to 1997.
Additionally, he held positions such as Chairman of Guided Therapeutics, Inc. from 2008 to 2014, Independent Director of The Coca-Cola Co. from 1991 to 2020, Director of NationsBank of Texas NA, Director of Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Inc. from 2006 to 2010, Independent Director of Forward Air Corp.
from 2011 to 2013, Independent Director of Aircastle Ltd. from 2006 to 2020, and Director of Presbyterian College.
He obtained his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
