OPERS’s investment decisions are made by the Retirement Board on the recommendation of the system's professional staff and outside investment advisors. The investment committee monitors the investment activities. They place contributed funds in income-producing investments that meet the requirements of Ohio law. The firm takes a contrarian approach that seeks to identify US stocks with negative Wall Street perceptions, low price-to-book values and catalysts that will lead to increases in earnings growth and prices. OPERS's investment approach combines fundamental research with a top-down overlay process.

FEMCOPA manages equity, fixed-income and money market mutual funds as well as a variety of other pooled investment vehicles, private investment companies and customized separately managed accounts (including non-US offshore funds). The firm offers various global strategic value equity and dividend-focused funds, as well as several mid- and large-cap index funds.

Functions as a sovereign level government authority

FIMCO offers a broad range of investment strategies, from liquidity solutions to high active share global and regional equities to active credit and private markets. Each investment team works with Responsible Investing Office personnel as they look to incorporate proprietary ESG tools and insights from our in-house engagement and stewardship team, EOS at Federated Hermes.

Functions as a College/University

FGIM primarily provides advice with respect to equity investment strategies; however, they do not recommend a particular type of security. The firm’s strategies include core international/emerging market equities, international equity, international small- and mid-cap equity, balanced/asset allocation, managed risk and the Kaufmann Accounts. The Kauffman strategy invests in small, mid or large-cap stocks, utilizing a fundamental bottom-up process seeking growth companies and may invest in less developed or emerging markets.

Stratos seeks to provide investment decisions that are made in accordance with the fiduciary duties owed to their accounts and without consideration of the firm’s economic, investment or other financial interests. Their policy is to seek fair and equitable allocation of investment opportunities/transactions among its clients to avoid favoring one client over another over time.
