Coles is currently a Director at Deep Resources Ltd., Grand Petroleum, Inc., Rondo Petroleum, Inc., a Member of The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy & Petroleum, and a Member of the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of AB. He is also the President of Menehune Resources Ltd. since 2002.
Previously, he was the Executive Chairman of Applied Terravision Systems, Inc. from 1994 to 2002, and the Director of ARC Resources Ltd. from 1996 to 2008.
He also held various director positions at Carbon Infrastructure Partners, ARC Energy Trust, Choice Resources Corp., Guide Exploration Ltd., Crew Energy, Inc., Progress Energy Trust, ExAlta Energy, Inc., Buffalo Resources Corp., Masters Energy, Inc., Cyries Energy, Inc., and TriStar Oil & Gas Ltd. Mr. Coles obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming in 1969.
