Chung David

David leads GIP’s tax department, focusing on structuring complex transactions as well as tax compliance Prior to GIP, David was the tax director of CarVal Investors an alternative investment funds manager that focuses on distressed credit, loan portfolios, renewable energy and real estate.
Prior to CarVal Investors, David worked for Credit Suisse – first as the head of the tax department’s advisory team in New York, and then as the head of a cross-border, equity derivatives structuring team based in London.
And before Credit Suisse, David worked as a tax lawyer at Cleary Gottlieb in New York, where he focused on the taxation of derivatives and cross-border M&A and financings.
