Mr. Stephen Sanborn was Director of Research at Value Line for 15 years, prior to his retirement in 2006.As Research Director, he was responsible for The Value Line Investment Survey and the company’s staff of approximately 70 security analysts.
He also oversaw the company’s other equity publications.
Earlier, he spent more than 20 years at Standard & Poor’s Corp., rising to Senior Vice President responsible for Equity Research.
Over the past 15 years Steve has had a variety of associations with BetterInvesting.
Locally he has made many presentations for the New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut Chapters.
At the national level he initiated the annual Value Line Award for the best performing investment club.
During his years at Value Line he attended nearly every annual Congress and presented most of the awards personally.
For his work with individual investors the Investment Education Institute presented him with the Distinguished Service Award in Investment Education.
Mr. Stephen Sanborn holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Colgate University and a master’s degree, also in economics, from the University of Pennsylvania.
He earned a Charter Financial Analyst certificate in 1971, and for many years he was a member of the Financial Analysts Federation, the New York Society of Security Analysts, and the Consumer Analysts Group of New York.
