The company is based in São Paulo, Brazil. ABAG has over 70 members from agribusiness and related industries such as technology, infrastructure, consulting, and finance. The association fosters integration, innovation, and leadership within the agroindustrial system and engages in knowledge dissemination and sector advancement through publications, research, and events. It operates the Instituto de Estudo do Agronegócio (IEAG) to study and manage agribusiness production chains, with a focus on sustainability, international integration, and social equity. ABAG has seven thematic committees covering legal, bioenergy, communication, innovation, machinery, sustainability, and international relations topics. The association promotes women's leadership in agribusiness through initiatives like the Women’s Leadership Academy in Agribusiness (ALMA) and the "Prêmio Mulheres do Agro" award, and supports research on gender equity in the sector. ABAG organizes the annual Brazilian Agribusiness Congress (CBA) and participates in policy discussions on topics such as climate change and trade agreements, advocating for sector growth and worker well-being.
