The firm establishes appropriate target ranges for the major asset classes within a portfolio based on each client's requirements for income, liquidity, capital appreciation, taxes and risk tolerance. Relative valuations among asset classes and forward-looking analysis are used to determine where, within the target range, the allocation should be set. Portfolios are adjusted as valuations change between asset classes.
