The common theme has been using private capital to achieve environmental and / or social benefit.
Microfinance
Established the Global Microfinance Equity Fund LP in 2008: a fund of US$115million to invest into the equity of microfinance institutions across the developing world.
To date this fund has invested, directly or indirectly into some forty MFIs around the world.
Co-established Progression East Africa Microfinance Equity Fund in 2012: a fund of US$40million to invest in microfinance institutions in the East African region.
Renewable Energy
Early player in UK renewable energy from 1990.
Founder and CEO of CLP Envirogas in 1991 and a leading player in UK renewable energy market.
