The UTAR Education Foundation wholly owns Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), a not-for-profit private university established in 2002 to provide affordable, merit-based education. The private company is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. UTAR operates two main campuses in Kampar, Perak, and Sungai Long, Selangor, offering over 140 academic programs from foundation to doctoral levels across fields such as business, engineering, sciences, arts, medicine, and health sciences. The university is governed by a board of trustees, university council, and an international advisory council, and emphasizes comprehensive student support through services including admissions, scholarships, accommodation, career planning, student mobility programs, and extracurricular activities. UTAR fosters a research environment with over 30 specialized research centers and institutes, supported by a research portal for grants, ethics, and collaborations. The university promotes international partnerships, industry linkages, and community engagement aligned with sustainability and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Teaching and learning are enhanced via e-learning platforms for flexible education. The UTAR Education Foundation also leads social initiatives such as the Miracle Baby Programme, which addresses congenital heart disease in Malaysian children through international medical collaboration and skill transfer.
