Omar Malhas

Omar Zuheir Abdul Fattah Malhas is currently serving as the Vice Chairman at the Water Authority of Jordan and as the Minister of Finance for the Government of Jordan.
Previously, he held positions such as Vice Chairman at Kingdom Investment Group Co. and Specialized Leasing Co., Director at Electricity Distribution Co., and Director at Jordan International Bank Plc.
He also served as a Director at various other organizations including Alia-The Royal Jordanian Airlines Plc, The International Bank for Trade & Finance, Social Security Investment Fund, The Housing Bank for Trade & Finance Algeria, Institute of Banking Studies Jordan, Al-Tajamouat for Touristic Projects PLC, Association of Banks In Jordan, King Abdullah II Design & Development Bureau, and International Financial Center Co. Additionally, he worked as the Manager-International Investments and later as the General Manager at The Housing Bank for Trade & Finance.
He also served as the Deputy General Manager at Doha Bank.
Mr. Malhas completed his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1982 and obtained an MBA from the University of Birmingham in 1991.
