Eeyou Communications Network is a non-profit regional fiber optic network established in 2004 to serve the James Bay and Eeyou Istchee regions in Québec. The private company is based in Mistissini, Canada. Developed by and for the local population, it provides ultra-high-speed, low-latency internet and advanced telecommunications services, including broadband internet transit and private WAN data transport supporting voice and video traffic. The network operates on an open access model, allowing multiple authorized providers to offer diversified and competitively priced services such as internet, telephone, and television. Eeyou Communications Network supports regional development through local recruitment and training in technology, management, and administration, and its infrastructure includes a 100Gbps backbone connecting communities, mines, and government facilities, with expansions into fiber-to-the-home and mobile services via partnerships. The Canadian company was founded by Alfred Loon, Buckley Petawabano, Raymond Menarick. The CEO is Cédric Melançon.
