Bill Hassiepen

Dr. Bill Hassiepen is a Senior Credit Research Analyst at IRON Financial LLC.
He began his career nearly 40 years ago through Philadelphia National Bank’s (now Wells Fargo) Management Training Program.
There, he served in both credit and line capacities in the International Division and managed Middle Eastern accounts.
Almost a decade later, he pursued work for Thomson BankWatch (now Fitch Ratings) as a General Manager for the Middle East.
There, he was responsible for maintaining and supervising the company’s 120 rating relationships in Gulf Cooperation Council and Levant countries.
In 2000, he joined the U.S.
Federal Government’s Counter-Terrorism Task Force to advise them on aspects of Middle Eastern banking, specifically regarding possible terrorist financing.
From 2008-2010, he was an Assistant General Manager and Head of Corporate Governance for Doha Bank, a Qatar-based regional bank.
Before joining IRON Financial in 2015, he was a Chief Analyst for Egan-Jones Ratings.
He served in the United States Navy for four years in the Supply Support and Logistics areas, and 18 years in the United States Air Force in the Command, Control, and Intelligence areas.
He received his undergraduate degree and a graduate degree from the University of Delaware, and a doctorate degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
