AIG Investments Europe is an active equity manager which uses fundamental research combined with bottom-up and top-down processes to provide risk-adjusted fixed-income returns. The firm invests in companies in all stages of development. They use a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis to uncover investment opportunities, buying and holding stocks that show fundamental improvement and are attractively priced. AIG Investments Europe uses qualitative and quantitative screening criteria to categorize stocks so that the portfolio teams can define the appropriate analytical approach and metrics to value them. The team then conducts bottom-up fundamental analysis, based on relative valuations and fundamental progression, and performs due diligence on the company. Proposed stocks are reviewed by the team, and ideas and valuations are shared via an online investment platform. Investment ideas are then added to portfolios. Techniques and information are shared among other AIG divisions. The firm invests in equity, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, and real estate.

Falcon-PB is an active, growth-oriented investor and manages portfolios invested in Swiss equity and fixed-income as well as globally. They primarily invest in European and North American giant- and large-cap equity. However, there is no market cap restriction and no particular sector focus. Falcon-PB is a long-term and risk-averse investor. Asset allocation is the key element of their investment process. Once assets have been allocated they follow a bottom-up, sector-oriented process for domestic investments while they favor a top-down approach when investing internationally. The firm emphasizes fundamental research although they also use quantitative tools. They quantitatively screen for cash flow and asset valuations over a period of time and seek to identify large-scale societal, demographic, and economic cycles likely to impact near-term valuations. Fund managers meet with the management teams of potential investees as part of the research process.
