Michael Conway

Until December 2019, Mike was the Executive Director of the Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corporation (MVEDC), a 501(c)3 non-profit economic development corporation.
In its 40 years of operation, MVEDC has helped over 2,000 businesses create over 20,000 jobs in the Mahoning Valley by way of business lending and investment, real estate development, railroad operations and government procurement assistance.
Beyond managing the activities of the organization and moving forward all elements of the strategic plan, Mike was most recently focused on building synergistic partnerships with the other major economic development organizations in the region.
Valley Growth Ventures, the region's first venture capital fund, is an example of that synergistic partnership.
Over the past 44 years, Mike has held senior management positions at seven different economic/community development organizations throughout the US.
He has worked in Buffalo and Saranac Lake/Lake Placid, NY, in Cleveland and Jefferson, OH, in Madison, Wisconsin and in Norway/South Paris, Maine.
Additionally, Mike has owned and managed a small business, taught in public schools and was a manager in the national Credits and Incentives practice with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, LLC.
Mike has enjoyed a successful career helping communities achieve more sustainable economies through his involvement in a variety of projects that have brought meaningful employment opportunities to the residents of these communities.
He is married to Claudia Thompson Conway.
They have three children and three grandchildren.
