McKee in 1993, Mr. Buongiorno was a Director in the Treasury Department of Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where his responsibilities included short-term funding and investments.
He was also a registered securities principal of Westinghouse Securities.
His experience includes eight years with Mellon Bank, where he held funding and investment positions in the capital markets and cash management units.
Mr. Buongiorno holds a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from Georgetown University.
He attended graduate Business School at George Washington University.
Early in his career, he completed Mellon Bank's credit training and management development program.
Mr. Buongiorno's interests center on his family, where he says his primary role is chauffeur to his two children's many sports teams.
He and his family are also frequent spectators at Pittsburgh sporting events, particularly Steelers' games, as well as at the U.S.
Open Tennis Championship in New York.
Mr. Buongiorno is a skier and tennis player who occasionally tries not to embarrass himself on the golf course.
He serves on the Finance Committee of his church.
He lives with his wife and children in the Highland Park section of Pittsburgh.
