Fumio Matsumoto

Mr. Fumio Matsumoto is a Chief Investment Officer-Japan Advantage Strategy at Dalton Capital (Japan) Inc. He joined Dalton Capital (Japan) Inc. as a portfolio manager in January 2014, bringing with him 16 years of experience.
Mr. Matsumoto began his career in equity sales at New Japan Securities on April 1998, before joining Mizuho Investors Securities in 2001 as an equity analyst with responsibility for materials, machinery and mid/small sized manufactures.
In 2005 he joined the Value Strategy team at T&D Asset Management as the deputy fund manager of the flagship AXIA strategy, managing portfolios for domestic and international institutional clients.
In late 2008 he became the lead portfolio manager for a number of institutional accounts, and in doing so he established his Strategic Value investment called “value alpha" managing $760 million on behalf of four institutional clients at the time of departure.
