Xin Yong Nie

Mr. Nie has led the team since 1997 when he became the Chairman and CEO of the Torch Automobile Group, a Shenzhen A-Share listed holding company focused on the heavy truck and automotive sectors.
From 1997 to 2006, Mr. Nie built Torch from a struggling, single-product, state-owned enterprise with a market capitalization of $34 million and gross revenue of $12 million into an industry leader with a market capitalization of over $1 billion and gross revenue of more than $1.4 billion.
This successful transformation was accomplished through a series of acquisitions and turnarounds of underperforming SOEs and direct investments in emerging private companies.
Between 1986 and 1996, Mr. Nie was a highly successful serial entrepreneur having founded businesses in the technical training, lock-making, real estate, and tourism sectors.
From 1982 to 1985, Mr. Nie was a lecturer at Xinjiang Agricultural University, during which time he was the only economist invited from the Xinjiang Province by the Chinese central government to help draft important policies relating to economic reform and market liberalization.
Mr. Nie received a Bachelor of Philosophy from Shaanxi Normal University and a Master of Business Administration from Central South University of China.
