Profil
Ralph Hickman took an early retirement as a Senior Portfolio Manager from JP Morgan Chase in late 2001.
He began his working career on the commercial side of banking with the National Bank of Westchester, but found the investment business more interesting and switched to the personal trust and investment management area in 1974.
NBW was later acquired by Chase Manhattan Bank.
In 1983, Ralph resigned from Chase to join The Portfolio Group at its inception as an independent investment advisor within Chemical Bank where he concentrated on equity and fixed income investing and research for high net worth individuals.
He continued that focus as the wave of financial mergers brought Chemical, Chase Manhattan and finally JP Morgan together.
Ralph graduated from Tufts University in 1968 as a history major and from Boston University’s Graduate School of Management with an MBA in 1971.
