AFP Provida SA (Investment Management) (ProVida-IM) is the Chile-based pension fund management division of AFP Provida SA (SA: PROVIDA), itself a subsidiary of MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) in the US. The firm was founded in 1981 by Grupo Cruzat Larraín after Chile launched the modern private pension system which established the private management of pension funds by corporations called Pension Fund Administrators (AFP). Headquartered in Santiago, AFP Provida merged with AFP El Libertador in 1995, with AFP Unión in 1998 and with AFP Protección in 1999. ProVida-IM advises and accompanies people in the construction of savings and pension solutions.
