David Whitney Palmer

Mr. David W.
Palmer, CFA MBA, is a Senior Managing Director, Partner & Equity Portfolio Manager at Wellington Management Co. LLP.
Mr. Palmer is part of the Opportunistic Value Team, which searches for value-oriented, low P/E securities.
His portfolio management responsibilities include both US domestic and global value portfolio mandates.
While his research is primarily focused on the energy sector, he also follows other industries including automotive, education, and IT services for a number of Wellington Management's specialized portfolios, including the Mid Cap Value and Value Cap App products.
Prior to joining Wellington Management in 1998, Mr. Palmer worked in equity sales, trading, and research at Cantor Fitzgerald, Ltd.
in London (1993 – 1996).
He earned his MBA in finance, with distinction, from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton, 1998) and his BA in English, with distinction, from Stanford University (1993).
He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia.
