Mr. Mullane was named Advest president in 2003 having served since 2000 as Private Client Group president with responsibility for leading all retail division managers, broker recruitment, development and retention, branch administration, and retail technology.
His role as Advest’s president adds firm-wide technology and operations to his earlier responsibilities.
Mr. Mullane has more than 20 years experience in the securities industry as a retail broker, branch manager, and divisional manager.
He joined Advest in 1991 as vice president for branch development where he conceived the idea for the Corporate Employee Retirement Consulting Group and was responsible for the innovative Business Builders Program.
In 1992 Dan became branch manager of the Boston office, now our largest retail office.
He simultaneously assumed the position of New England division manager and was named to the Advest, Inc. board of directors in 1996.
Mr. Mullane majored in Management Science at Lehigh University.
He has a BS degree in management, completed instructor training at the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School in 1991, and has been a pioneer in wilderness-based development programs.
During his tenure in Boston, he also earned a Certificate of Special Studies for Administration and Management at Harvard University.
Mr. Mullane is a 1998 graduate of the Securities Industry Institute conducted at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
