Dan Sagie

Dan joined Capital Nature in 2014 bringing extensive experience and a deep understanding of energy technologies and project implementation.
Dan spent most of his professional career at the Nuclear Research Center, Negev (NRCN).
Since 1982, Dan is also projects manager and then the Chief Scientist for Renewable Energy in Rotem Industries – NRCN’s commercial arm.
Throughout his career, Dan was involved in large scale projects to name only a few: he was CEO of Laser-On, a start targeting the Medical lasers market, he headed the commercial scale volumetric air receiver Rotem’s project together with Boeing and Ormat at the Weizmann Institute Solar Facilities, he led the R&D of solar power plants new generations at Siemens CSP (formerly Solel), he worked at the U.
of Chicago (non-imaging optics) and spent a Sabbatical at NREL in CO, USA. Dan was the Ministry of Energy chief Scientist’s referee for Solar Energy, and currently serves as the secretary of ISES Israeli section.
Dan holds a PhD in Gas Dynamics from the University of Toronto, UTIAS (1981); M.Sc.
at the Ben Gurion University (1979), and a B.Sc.
in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering from the Technion (1964).
