Chris Emmanouilides

Chris is a central creative manager at Banyan.
He is responsible for creative oversight of the company’s programs, supervision of Banyan’s series executive producers, and on-time delivery of hundreds of episodes of programming each year.
When a series or special leaves the development process and goes into regular production, Chris appoints the showrunner, oversees staffing and all the elements of production, and guides the program to completion.
He also participates in talent management and program budgeting.
Chris joined Banyan in March 1996 as producer-director-cameraman.
He did location work for the company in Peru, Chile, Japan and numerous other locations around the world.
He rose quickly to series executive producer for 42 episodes of Travelers, an hour-long international travel series for the Discovery Channel, and of the Reunion series for TLC.
Chris was then appointed Director of Special Projects and oversaw two prime-time documentaries for Discovery, one for HGTV, and one for Discovery Health Network.
Chris has been Banyan’s Director of Programming for Banyan since 1998.
Chris brings enormous energy and knowledge to Banyan.
He is co-founder of an independent production company, and has produced, directed, and served as director of photography on numerous independent documentaries.
Among these are several that have been screened at Sundance and AFI, and another that was broadcast throughout the US and Canada and took first prize in its category at the San Francisco International Film Festival.
Currently, Chris has an independent documentary in international distribution.
He serves as visiting lecturer at many universities, is president of the board of the Philadelphia Independent Film and Video Association and teaches 16mm production at the Scribe Video Center.
He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Temple University
