Chris Broadhurst is a founding Partner of Sceptre Investment Management Ltd.
Chris has a degree in Physics from Oxford University and an MBA from London Business School.
He joined the equity department of Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York in 1987.
After transferring to London in 1988, he was responsible for selling equity derivatives to European and Middle Eastern pension funds, asset managers and insurance companies.
In 1991 Chris joined Nomura International Plc.
and started to build the equity derivatives operation.
When he left Nomura in 1997, Chris traded equity index futures and UK stocks.
In the year prior to the launch of the Phoenix UK Fund, he produced returns of over 200% in futures and 62% in stocks.
In 1998 he co-founded Phoenix Asset Management Partners and established the Phoenix UK Fund which returned over 14% pa in its 6+ years of existence and was rated 5 star by S&P Micropal.
Chris was instrumental in contributing investment ideas to the Fund and raising over £100m for the Phoenix UK Fund.
In 2001 he launched the Phoenix Hedge Fund, a Value based European long-short equity hedge fund, in its 3+ years of operation the fund returned almost 15% before fees.
Chris left Phoenix Asset Management in September 2004 and founded Sceptre Investment Management in March 2005.
