Cara Ebert

Dr. Cara Ebert is a Researcher at RWI - Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung e.V.
Dr. Ebert has been working as a scientist in the competence area "Labor markets, Education, Population" since February 2019.
Cara's research interests lie in family, gender, and human capital as a development economist.
Cara investigates barriers to human capital development, specifically cognitive and non-cognitive skills in early childhood, and effective interventions to promote skill development and reduce gender discrimination.
For these purposes, she collects primary data and runs randomized controlled trials in addition to quasi-experimental identification techniques.
Before that, Dr. Ebert completed appointments as a research analyst at The National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction, as a consultant at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, as a Consultant for the German Corporation for International Cooperation, and was teaching at the University of Goettingen.
She studied Economics at the Humboldt University of Berlin (B.Sc.) and Amsterdam (M.Sc.).
In January 2019, Cara gained her Ph.D.
in Development Economics at the University of Goettingen.
