Anita Umarji

Anita Umarji is a partner and head of investor relations based out of Bessemer’s New York City office.
She is responsible for scaling Bessemer’s investor relations and leading fundraising efforts.
Prior to joining Bessemer in 2023, Anita was a partner and head of investor relations at Sandbox Industries, a venture capital firm focused on healthcare, insurtech, and food and agriculture.
At Sandbox, Anita built out the investor relations function and team and led the development and growth of limited partner relationships.
Previously, she held senior roles in global fundraising, investor relations, and strategy at distressed investing firms Strategic Value Partners and Bardin Hill, as well as at Apollo Global Management.
Anita began her career in institutional sales and trading at Morgan Stanley, focusing on credit and equity structured products and derivatives.
Anita earned her B.A.
in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
