Alan Kwan

Dr. Alan Kwan is a Vice President of Research at Tekla Capital Management LLC.
He is responsible for investment research and due diligence of private and public companies in the biotechnology, medical device and diagnostic areas and serves as a member of the team responsible for making investments on behalf of the Funds.
He joined the firm in June 2014.
He previously was a Principal Investigator at GlaxoSmithKline, plc., where he designed and established proprietary experimental and analytical methodologies that leveraged platform technologies in oncology, immunology, hematology, antibacterial, vaccines, safety and toxicology, and other R&D units.
He also directed the installation and global deployment of genomics platform technologies throughout GSK R&D.
Dr. Kwan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of British Columbia, a Master of Science in Computational Genetics from Washington University in St. Louis, a PhD in Computational Genomics from Washington University School of Medicine, and an MBA from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
