Profil

Silver, 43, joined the NBA in 1992 as Special Assistant to the Commissioner.
He became NBA Chief of Staff in 1993; Senior Vice President and COO, NBA Entertainment, in 1995; and then President and COO, NBA Entertainment in 1997.
In 2000, NBA Entertainment and NBA Properties were reorganized, with the operations of both business units coming under his direction.
Prior to joining the NBA, he served as a litigation associate at the New York law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where he concentrated on media and anti-trust cases.
Silver also served as a law clerk to Judge Kimba Wood at the Federal District Court in New York City.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg appointed Silver in 2003 to the New York City Sports Development Corporation.
He also serves on the boards of PENCIL (an organization focused on developing civic involvement in the New York City public schools), the Partnership for a Drug-Free America and the Duke University Library.
He is also a Member of the University of Chicago Law School Visiting Committee.
Silver graduated from Duke University in 1984 with an AB in Political Science and in 1988 he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Chicago Law School.
He resides in New York City.
