beeTV addresses the 'paradox of choice' that characterizes today's TV scenario by providing TV viewers with their own Personal Content Channel™ (PCC™). The paradox is that a bewildering array of viewing choices tends to restrict them rather than improving the quality of its entertainment. Subscribers are frustrated by the necessity to sift through the vast amount of content available on their platform in order to choose what they would ultimately like to watch. Channel surfing was fine when there were a limited number of television networks, but is no longer a viable option with hundreds of networks and thousands of on-demand options available to most viewers. Currently, the only navigational alternative to surfing the electronic program guide, but the EPG is impersonal and only provides textual program descriptions. The Personal Content Channel™ (PCC™) solves this challenge by providing personalized content recommendations that enable viewers to find rather than search for relevant TV content that matches their profile.
