Pierre Breton

Dr. Pierre Breton is Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer at XLCAP Investments, Inc. He participated in the acquisition of Eicon Networks for which he maintained part of the going concern in the pre-restructuring phase managing sales internationally.
Prior to co-founding XLCAP in 2002, Dr. Breton founded Cortex Machina and acted as its CEO from 1995 to the end of 2000.
He led the success of Cortex Machina, securing a multi million dollar financing, creating product development strategies, establishing and managing IP, and securing patent protection for the company’s artificial vision system.
He sold the company in 2001, staying on as Senior Vice President – Corporate Strategy for nearly two years.
Prior to founding Cortex Machina, Dr. Breton was a “visitor fellow” at Cornell University, teacher at McGill University and post-doctorate researcher at the Center for Intelligent Machines.
He holds B.Sc.
and M.Sc.
in solid-state physics from Université de Sherbrooke, and a Ph.D.
in electrical and computer engineering from McGill University.
He is a member of the professional order of engineers (OIQ).
