Mr. Rein joined GLP in August 2008, having previously advised on and/or financed over $100 billion of transactions, largely focused on the leisure sector.
Prior to joining GLP, he was most recently a senior banker in Credit Suisse's gaming, lodging & leisure practice, where his notable transactions included advising and financing sponsors such as TPG and Apollo in their $30 billion acquisition of Harrah's, Dubai World in its $5 billion investments in MGM Mirage and CityCenter, and DLJ Merchant Banking with respect to its holding in Hard Rock Casino, as well as structuring the innovative $3.5 billion acquisition and construction financing for the Goldman Sachs / Istithmar / Colony Capital consortium's leveraged buyout of Kerzner International.
He also worked closely with DLJ Merchant Banking (a unit of Credit Suisse) in evaluating and managing a number of investments in the gaming, lodging & leisure sector.
Previously, Mr. Rein was an investment banker at CIBC World Markets, where he also focused on the gaming & lodging sectors; Montgomery & Co., where he specialized in media & entertainment; and Gleacher & Co., where he spent seven years in the New York and London offices as an M&A banker, also evaluating and making principal investments on behalf of the firm.
Mr. Rein received his B.A.
in economics cum laude from Harvard.
