Prior to joining Shawmut, Mr. Dixon was a Principal at Fleet Equity Partners, a $1 billion venture capital partnership based in Providence, Rhode Island.
While at Fleet Equity Partners, he focused on growth financings and consolidations of service businesses in both the telecommunications and Internet sectors.
Mr. Dixon's investments at Fleet included Exodus Communications (NASDAQ: EXDS; acquired by Cable & Wireless) and Verio, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRIO; acquired by NTT Communications).
Prior to joining Fleet Equity Partners, Mr. Dixon was an Associate at Bain Capital, a $3 billion venture capital partnership based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Through Bain's Information Partners fund, he invested in numerous information processing and services companies supporting the financial services sector.
Previously, Mr. Dixon worked at IBM and Qualcomm, Inc. in a variety of engineering, sales, strategic planning, and strategic equity investment positions.
Mr. Dixon is currently a member of the Board of Directors of bTrade, Inc and previously served as a director of CBS Employer Services, Inc. Mr. Dixon received an M.B.A.
from the Harvard Business School in 1991, an M.S.E.E.
from the University of California, San Diego in 1987, and an A.B.
from Dartmouth College in 1985.
