David F. Caygill

Mr Caygill joined the Infratil board in 2004.He was a Christchurch City Councillor for nine years and a Member of Parliament from 1978 to 1996, including six years as a Cabinet Minister (Trade and Industry, Health and Finance).
Between 1993-96 he was Deputy-Leader of the Opposition.
From 1996, when he retired from politics, until 2004 he was a partner in the legal firm of Buddle Findlay.
He is, or has been, chair of the Accident Compensation Corporation, the electricity industry's Grid Security Committee, and Education New Zealand and the 2000 Ministerial Inquiry into the Electricity Industry.He is on the board of the Nurse Maude Association and the Deputy Chair of the Commerce Commission.
