Prior to joining First Republic in 2008, Mr. Kofman was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Charles Schwab Investment Management in San Francisco, where he was responsible for its proprietary managed accounts program and for implementing its mutual fund wrap offer.
In addition, he helped in the portfolio design of several mutual funds and was a member of Schwab's Investment Strategy Council, which determines the asset allocation and sector guidelines for retail investors.
He has a strong background in portfolio management, investment product development and systems infrastructure.
He began his career in 1992 and his experience includes positions as Assistant Vice President in the Wealth Management group at California Bank & Trust and Vice President & Trust Officer at Greater Bay Bank.
Mr. Kofman holds a B.A.
from Lewis & Clark College and a J.D.
from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
