Dr. Steffen Sebastian is a Research Associate at Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung GmbH.
He is Professor of Real Estate Finance at the IREBS International Real Estate Business School and director at the Center for Finance at the University of Regensburg, Germany.
At ZEW, he works in close cooperation with the research unit "Pensions and Sustainable Financial Markets", especially within the Leibniz-Network "Real Estate and Capital Markets" (ReCapNet).
His research focuses are indirect real estate investments, real estate indices, real estate derivatives and asset allocation.
He is a member of the board of the European Real Estate Society (ERES) and head of the competence group “Indirect Investment” of the Society of Property Researchers, Germany .
He holds a graduate diploma in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim (Germany) and from ESSEC (France).
He also holds a Doctor degree from the University of Mannheim (Germany) and a Habilitation degree from Goethe-University, Frankfurt (Germany).
