Mike Phillips

Founded in 1997 by Ted Turner and his family, the Turner Endangered Species Fund (TESF) is a charitable foundation and non-exempt charitable trust located in Bozeman, Montana. The fund focuses on conserving biodiversity by ensuring the persistence of imperiled species and their habitats with an emphasis on private land. TESF is a core grantee of the Turner Foundation. They concentrate their efforts on carnivores, grasslands, plant-pollinator complexes and species that historically ranged onto properties owned by Ted Turner. TESF's activities are based on the principles of conservation biology. TESF supports the distribution of reliable scientific and policy information on biodiversity conservation and works closely with state and federal agencies, universities and private organizations. Historically, TESF has been involved in reintroduction projects for imperiled plants, birds, fishes and mammals.
