Mr. Geoff M.
Balzano is Chief Executive Officer at Morningstar Investment Management Europe Ltd., Morningstar Europe Ltd., and OBSR Advisory Services Ltd.
He is responsible for strategy and operations for all of Morningstar’s business lines in the UK market.
Since relocating to London in 2007, he has overseen the rapid growth of Morningstar UK, doubling the number of employees working in the UK business to some 300.
He has also overseen several company acquisitions that have extended Morningstar’s data and research capabilities available to the UK market, including the acquisition of OBSR in 2010.
Since then, he has worked side by side with the OBSR research and consulting teams to integrate the businesses, and to gain operational benefit from Morningstar’s global research operations.
He is actively engaging with OBSR’s Adviser, Asset Management and Insurance clients throughout the UK, and has lead Morningstar’s response to a number of industry challenges, including the readying of the company’s adviser software products and research for the UK’s Retail Distribution Review.
Mr. Balzano holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Asian studies from Indiana University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
