The firm was originally founded by Frank Martin in 1987 as McDonald Capital Management. They were a subsidiary of McDonald & Co., a brokerage firm Mr. Martin had been associated with since 1974. In 1991, the firm became independent of McDonald & Co. and was renamed Martin Capital Management. MCM provides investment advisory services to wealthy families and institutions.
