Christopher J. O'Brien

Mr. O'Brien, Managing Director, joined Perseus in 2003.
Prior to joining Perseus, he created and led the Private Equity business of Robertson Stephens.
He structured, negotiated and completed an initial investment partnership which included a $250 million capital commitment from Robertson Stephens and Fleet Bank.
From 1999-2000, Mr. O'Brien worked at Minor/O'Brien Ventures I, L.L.C., and from 1993-1999, he worked at Orchid Holdings, L.P., a private equity firm that he co-founded with one of his partners from Rainwater, Inc. From 1989-1993, he worked directly as an investment advisor to and partner with Richard E.
Rainwater.
He was responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including identifying, analyzing, negotiating, structuring and executing equity and debt investments in a broad variety of industries in the U.S.
Investment types included operating companies, public market securities and real property assets.
Mr. O'Brien is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bay Area Discovery Museum and he is a member of the Founder's Club Committee of the San Francisco Day School.
Mr. O'Brien holds a B.A.
in Political Science from Stanford University and an M.B.A.
from Harvard Business School.
