Vartan Gregorian

Vartan Gregorian is currently the Director of the Institute for Advanced Study, Inc., Director-Emeritus of Human Rights Watch, Inc., Trustee of Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Trustee of American Academy in Berlin GmbH, and Member of The Phi Beta Kappa Society.
He previously served as a Director of S&P Global, Inc., an Independent Director of CTI BioPharma Corp., a Board Member of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust, President of Brown University, Founding Dean of the University of Pennsylvania, Principal of the University of California, Los Angeles, and Principal of The University of Texas at Austin.
He was also a Board Member of The J.
Paul Getty Trust and President of The New York Public Library Astor Lenox & Tilden Foundations.
Gregorian holds a doctorate and an undergraduate degree from Stanford University.
