Peter John McDonnell

Peter John McDonnell is the founder of Graybug Vision, Inc. founded in 2011.
He is currently the Director at Doheny Eye Institute, and a Director & Professor at Wilmer Eye Institute since 1987.
He is also an Ophthalmology Professor at American University, a Member of The Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology, a Member of American Academy of Ophthalmology, Inc., and the Vice President of Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology.
Additionally, he is a Member of ARCS Foundation, Inc. and Maryland Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons.
Dr. McDonnell has held former positions as an Independent Director at Allergan, Inc. from 2013 to 2020, and at Aerie Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2020 to 2022.
He was also a Director at KeraLink International, Inc., and the President & Director of Alliance for Eye & Vision Research and National Alliance for Eye & Vision Research.
Furthermore, he was an Independent Director at Allergan Ltd. (Ireland) from 2015 to 2020, and a Professor at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. McDonnell received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his doctorate from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
