Ratingen, 11. Mai 2022 - Das deutsch-kanadische Unternehmen Rock Tech Lithium ist ab sofort
Mitglied der European Battery Alliance (EBA). Maro efovi, Vizepräsident der europäischen
Kommission, hat die Interessensvertretung 2017 ins Leben gerufen. Der EBA gehören rund 700
private Unternehmen und staatliche Institutionen an. Zu den Mitgliedern zählen unter anderem
der amerikanische Lithium-Produzent Albemarle, die deutsche BASF, welche unter anderem Kathoden
für Akkus produziert, oder das Fraunhofer Institut.

Ziel der EBA ist es, in Europa einen sichereren Verkehr mit umweltschonenden Fahrzeugen und
nachhaltigeren technologischen Lösungen zu gewährleisten. Dieses Ziel soll durch die
Schaffung einer wettbewerbsfähigen und nachhaltigen Wertschöpfungskette für die
Herstellung von Batteriezellen in Europa erreicht werden. Die EBA rechnet damit, dass der
entsprechende Markt bis 2025 auf ein Volumen von 250 Milliarden Euro wachsen wird.

Zum Beitritt von Rock Tech Lithium zur EBA meinte Dirk Harbecke, Chairman des Unternehmens:

Batterie-Wertschöpfungskette, Wissenschaftlern und politischen Entscheidungsträgern weiter
