Die Credit Suisse Group gibt eine Reihe von Ernennungen in die Geschäftsleitung und Änderungen im Management bekannt:

Chief Financial Officer

David Mathers, der seit 2010 CFO und seit 2016 CEO von Credit Suisse International (CSI) tätig ist, hat seinen Wunsch nach einer Herausforderung ausserhalb der Credit Suisse bekundet. Er hat zugestimmt, seine Verantwortungsbereiche und Aufgaben solange fortzuführen, bis die geeigneten Nachfolger für beide Funktionen gefunden worden sind, um einen geordneten Übergang zu gewährleisten. Die Credit Suisse hat einen internen und externen Suchprozess gestartet, in welchen David Mathers involviert ist, um die optimalen Kandidaten oder Kandidatinnen für die beiden Rollen zu finden.

CEO der Region Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)

Francesca McDonagh übernimmt ab dem 1. Oktober 2022 von Francesco De Ferrari, CEO der Division Wealth Management, welcher diese Funktion ad interim seit Januar 2022 innehatte. Sie wird ihren Sitz in Zürich haben und als Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung direkt an Group CEO Thomas Gottstein rapportieren. Francesca McDonagh war vor ihrem Wechsel zur Credit Suisse seit 2017 als CEO der Bank of Ireland tätig. Davor hatte sie verschiedene Führungspositionen bei der HSBC Group inne, darunter Group General Manager und Regional Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management UK and Europe. Sie hat ein Bachelor of Arts in Politik, Philosophie und Wirtschaftswissenschaften von der Oxford University.

CEO der Region Asia Pacific (APAC)

Helman Sitohang hat seine Intention bekanntgegeben, von seiner aktuellen Position per 1. Juni 2022 zurückzutreten. Edwin Low, der bereits seit 1996 bei der Credit Suisse tätig ist, wird die Nachfolge von Helman Sitohang als Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung übernehmen und direkt an Group CEO Thomas Gottstein berichten. Er ist derzeit Co-Head Investment Banking APAC mit Sitz in Singapur und agiert als CEO für Südostasien. Bevor er zur Credit Suisse kam, arbeitete Edwin Low bei Schroders Australia und bei der Anwaltskanzlei Mallesons Stephen Jaques, wo er als Rechtsanwalt zugelassen wurde. Er hat einen Bachelor der Jurisprudenz und einen Bachelor der Rechtswissenschaften der University of Western Australia sowie einen MBA der Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales.

Helman Sitohang, der 2014 zum CEO von APAC ernannt und ein Jahr später in die Geschäftsleitung gewählt wurde, wird als Senior Advisor des Group CEO bei der Credit Suisse bleiben und konzentriert sich auf Kernkunden und die strategische Entwicklung in der Region APAC, einem wichtigen Wachstumsmarkt für die Bank. Er wird auch im Asia Advisory Council tätig sein. Helman Sitohang kam 1998 zur Credit Suisse und hatte seitdem verschiedene leitende Positionen, wie Leiter der Investment Bank APAC, inne.

Group General Counsel

Markus Diethelm wird die Bank per 1. Juli 2022 als General Counsel verstärken. Er ersetzt Romeo Cerutti, welcher nach über zehn Jahren in seiner Funktion seinen Rücktritt bekannt gegeben hat. Er wird der Geschäftsleitung beitreten und direkt an Group CEO Thomas Gottstein berichten. Markus Diethelm war von 2014 bis 2021 als General Counsel und Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung bei der UBS Group tätig. Ab 2008 hatte er dieselbe Funktion für die UBS AG inne. In den zehn Jahren davor war er als Group Chief Legal Officer für die Swiss Re im Einsatz. Markus Diethelm hat ausserdem für verschiedene Anwaltskanzleien in den USA gearbeitet wie u.a. Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Shearman & Sterling und Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. Er ist als Anwalt in Zürich, Genf und New York City zugelassen und hat einen Abschluss in Rechtswissenschaften von der Universität Zürich sowie einen Master-Abschluss und einen Doktortitel der Stanford Law School.

Axel P. Lehmann, Verwaltungsratspräsident der Credit Suisse, sagte: «Ich heisse Francesca und Markus herzlich bei der Credit Suisse willkommen und gratuliere Edwin zu seiner Beförderung. Sie bringen einen reichen Erfahrungsschatz und beeindruckende Erfolgsbilanzen in ihren jeweiligen Bereichen mit, kombiniert mit der richtigen Risikomentalität, die erforderlich ist, um die Umsetzung unserer strategischen und kulturellen Transformation voranzutreiben. Ich möchte David, Romeo und Helman für ihren langjährigen Dienst und ihr Engagement für die Credit Suisse danken.»

Thomas Gottstein, Group CEO der Credit Suisse, sagte: «Ich freue mich darauf, Francesca, Markus und Edwin mit ihrer jeweiligen weitreichenden beruflichen Erfahrung und fundierten Kenntnissen der Finanzdienstleistungsbranche in der Geschäftsleitung begrüssen zu dürfen. Gleichzeitig möchte ich David und Romeo für ihren Beitrag an die Bank in ihren wichtigen Funktionen über einen bedeutenden Zeitraum danken. Ich wünsche Romeo alles Gute für die Zukunft. Ich habe Davids Entscheid mit Bedauern zur Kenntnis genommen und bin froh, in den kommenden Monaten weiter auf seine Unterstützung zählen zu dürfen, bis seine Nachfolge geregelt ist. Abschliessend freue ich mich, dass Helman mich sowie Edwin in seiner neuen Rolle weiter unterstützen wird, sich unseren wichtigsten Kunden in der APAC Region widmet und mich bei der Strategieumsetzung beraten wird.»
