David P. Kaut

Mr. David Kaut is an Associate Analyst at Stifel, Nicolaus & Co., Inc. Mr. Kaut joined Stifel Nicolaus in connection with Stifel's acquisition of the Legg Mason Capital Markets Group in December 2005.
He joined Legg Mason in February 2001 and contributed to its telecom regulatory reports, including the weekly Washington Telecom & Media Insider.
Before that, Mr. Kaut had been the telecom reporter at BNA Daily Report for Executives, where he covered industry matters at the FCC, in Congress, the courts, and elsewhere.
He also served as a reporter and editor at States News Service, covering Washington for a variety of newspapers and other publications, including Multichannel News, a cable-TV trade weekly.
Previously, he was an assistant editor and then managing editor of The Times of the Americas, a Latin American affairs publication.
Mr. Kaut graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1982 with a degree in government.
