Alain Dupuis

Alain Dupuis was appointed Chief Executive Officer, Global Business Division, Compass Group PLC in 1999.
Previously he was CEO Compass Group Sud(1995) and President of Eurest International (1991) which was acquired by Compass Group from Accor in 1995.
Alain is a Doctor of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Louvain University (Belgium) and has an MBA from INSEAD.
He is a reserve officer of the para commando regiment.
Alain started his career in Africa as VP Marketing of Unibra.
He joined Accor in 1975 to launch its Meal Voucher Operation in Belgium.
During this period, he also developed a small chain of Cambodian restaurants with his Cambodian family-in-law.
Accor moved him from Belgium in 1982 to the USA to prepare the launch of a meal voucher operation and the acquisition of a restaurant chain, Seafood Broiler Restaurants, California.
On acquisition, Alain became CEO of the acquired business.
Upon the sale six years later, of Seafood Broiler (now quadrupled in size) to General Mills, Alain was promoted to be responsible for the voucher operation of Accor in the USA. In 1989 Alain left Accor to be CEO of National Cleaning Contractor, New York, a U.S.
leader in janitorial and building maintenance services and he rejoined Accor in 1991 as CEO of Eurest International.
Alain Dupuis is a Belgian citizen, he speaks 5 languages and is married with 2 children.
He enjoys tennis, field hockey, boating and skiing.
