Soundara Kumar is on the board of Bank of Baroda and 10 other companies. In the past Ms. Kumar occupied the position of Chairman of Asset Reconstruction Co. (India) Ltd., Managing Director at State Bank of Indore, Chief Executive Officer for State Bank of India (California), Member of Reserve Bank of India and Deputy Managing Director at State Bank of India.

Soundara Kumar received an undergraduate degree from the University of Madras.
