In his past career he occupied the position of Chief Executive Officer for Autoneum Holding AG and Member-Management Board at Rieter Automotive Management AG (a subsidiary of Autoneum Holding AG), Head-Business Group at Rieter Holding AG and Chief Controller-International at Rieter Textile Systems Ltd. (a subsidiary of Rieter Holding AG) and Controller-Business Unit at IBM Schweiz AG.

Mr. Hirzel received an undergraduate degree from the University of Applied Sciences Zurich.
