He previously was Deputy General Manager for Guangzhou Motorcycle Group Co. Ltd., Head-General Affairs Department at GAC Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., Chairman at Guangzhou Automobile Group Component Co., Ltd. and Deputy General Manager for Honda Automobile (China) Co. Ltd.

Mao Shan Chen received an undergraduate degree from Dalian University of Technology and an undergraduate degree from Murdoch University.
